    The moment Harry de Leyer looked into the old horse he knew that he was not meant to be there. He still had potential. Harry had seen many horses that were bound for the slaughter plantation, but he knew that this was not one of them. This was the start of a new and wonderful life for the old plow horse.

    The moment the old plow horse stepped out of the trailer Harry de Leyer's three children knew what his name would be. It had been snowing and the horse was covered in it, so they decied on naming him Snowman.

    Harry de Leyer thought that every horse should earn their keep on a ranch or at the stables. It was time to see what Snowman could do, as well as what Harry could train him to do.

    After training there is always work. Harry put Snowman to the test when he took him to be a lesson horse at the Knox School for Girls. The horse turned out to be perfect for the beginner riders who still needed a little more confidence.

    After Harry used Snowman at the Knox School for one year he had to sell the horse becuse there wasnt enough room in the small barn at Hollianda, Harry's small farm. Harry sold Snowman to a doctor who lived down the street. The only thing that was in between Hollianda and the Doctors house was multiple around 5 foot pasture fences.

    Snowman looked hopeless in the jumping world from Harry's piont of view, but in Snowman's mind things were different. He proved Harry completely wrong the day he jumped over the 5ft jumps that were set up in the arena when Harry was on his back. Harry figured out about his capability when Snowman kept finding his way into their yard after just being at the Doctors house.

    Snowman was considered an "underdog." The reason for this was that out of no where this amazing animal became the number one in the top show circuts. Harry made Snowman the be loved by everyone. All this happened by the end of one night, taking place at Madison Square Garden.

    The last time Snowman would ever be seen in the show ring again was at Madison Square Garden when he did a retirement lap around the huge arena with the big shining spot lights.

    Snowman was layed to rest because his kidneys were failing due to his old age. He was a very successful show horse and got him self the amazing feeling of being a champion that everyone will always remember him. Harry buried his wonderful horse under his favorite tree out in pasture.

    Harry de Leyer was given the wonderful opportunity to have his family become even more loved and now all Snowman's fans would be able to have their beloved Snowman with them forever and always.
