His father's death
Charlie's father died when he was 15. His father died because of Spanish flu. Charlie was really sad and depressed after his father's death. -
Charlie takes part in the race to work for Squizzy
Charlie took part in the race with 3 other boys. After Squizzy Taylor said get set go everyone else except Charlie took off as Charlie lost his balance and awkwardly fell on the ground. After a while he stood up and took off. Two of those boys went for shortcut but Charlie didn't as he knew it was hard to run on grass. -
Charlie won the race and started working for Squizzy Taylor
Charlie finally reached to the finish line with his two eggs unbroken. Squizzy Taylor had hard boiled Charlie's eggs as he wanted Charlie to be one of his lad. The next day Charlie asked his mum if he can work for Squizzy Taylor, Mrs. Feehan needed money for Charlie's and Jack's education though she said Charlie not to work for Squizzy Taylor. Charlie still went to Squizzy's place to work for him as they needed money. -
Charlie meet Alice at the football ground
Charlie goes to the football ground with Heath family to watch and cheer Norman for his first football match. There after the match Charlie noticed a girl supporting opposite team with red hair, fair skin and freakles. -
Charlie meets Alice in the café
Squizzy Taylor sent Charlie to few houses to bring his money back which some people borrowed from him. Charlie goes to some houses and at the end he goes to the cafe where he meets the same girl. Her name was Alice -
Charlie started taking lessons for running from Mr. Redmond
First day Charlie had to do rabbit hunting in a way of practicing running. Charlie did a good job but Mr. Redmond's son was really good at this. -
Charlie in semi final running race
Charlie felt really comfortable in those shoes Mr. Redmond bought for him, but he took them off while the starting of the race, mr. Redmond got really confused when this happened. -
Charlie in running race finals
Charlie did win when he was running without any shoes. Then Mr. Redmond came to Charlie and asked why he did that. Then without answering Charlie gave Mr. Redmond the money he got form working for Squizzy Taylor. After that Charlie got ready for the final race. -
Charlie won the race
It was really hard for Charlie to run smoothly after three laps but then he imagined that his father, his mother, jack, Alice and nostrils (Norman) were cheering him. He was just few steps away, and finally me got to the end first he was not sure who won but when he saw Mr. Redmond running happily towards him he was sure that he won. -
Charlie gave his mother the keys of Heath and Feehan timber company
Charlie was really proud that he was finally able to make their own timber company. Everyone was proud of Charlie and the work he did. Even Alice was happy as she finally saw his father dancing in these many years. Alice's father was dancing with Mrs. Feehan and Alice was dancing with Charlie. -
Charlie hits Mr.peocock with a cricket bat.
When Charlie was back from work he saw Mr. Peocock was harassing Mrs. Feehan, as he saw that Charlie lost his control and took his cricket bat and hit it really hard on Mr. Peocock's head. -
Norman gets beaten up by barlow's gang.
Charlie and Norman were coming down the street, Norman was run in so fast as he was coming down the slope. He was not able to stop when Barlow and his gang were standing right down the slope. Charlie slowed down, because of that Norman got beaten up. -
Charlie went to meet Norman in the hospital
Charlie did take Norman to the hospital after the incident but then Charlie was really scared and gave all information about Norman and his family to the nurse and left Norman in the hospital. After few days Charlie went to meet Norman but then the nurse stopped him and told him that only patient's relatives are allow, Charlie lied about being Norman's cousin and went in to meet Norman. -
Charlie and Mr. Redmond leaves for the big race
Charlie said bye to his mum and jack and Mr. Redmond said bye to his wife and son. After that Charlie and Mr. Redmond left for railway. -
Mr. Redmond gave Charlie his new shoes
After they arrived at the place they were gonna stay till the end of the race, Mr. Redmond gave a suprise to Charlie. He gave him new running shoes as a suprise.
