    Herod was the king of Israel. He did not believe the Christians. After he died Judea was under the Romans control. The Romans defeated the Jews and so many Jews perished.     A huge fire started in the Circus Maximus. It caused 10 of the Rome districts to burn down. Historians don't exactly know what Nero was doing during this fire. Some say he caused the fire but others say he didn't. He then blamed the Christians for this fire and said it was there fault.

    He said Christians should not be distracted form world things because of there religion. He wanted to be baptized but didn't have the chance to before he died.

    The Christians were killed because of there beliefs. All of the Romans thought they were wrong and wanted them gone. The Roman leader blamed the Christians for everything even when it wasn't there fault. They threw them into these cages or just hurt them. Some were put on crosses and died that way. They were not treated well and people wanted none of them left.

    Theodosius was a Roman Emperor in 379. He was the last one to rule over the Eastern and Western area. He went against the Goths and Barbarians in a war. He had the German tribes trade land and goods to help each other out. He raised taxes for everyone and made them pay more. The people got mad at him for higher taxes.
