Double Jump

Finny and Gene both jump out of the tree. But Gene jiggles the tree and Finny falls out and breaks his leg, while Gene lands safely in the water. --x--

The doctors tell Finny he can never play sports again. He may be able to walk, but he can never play sports. --x--

Too Busy for Sports

Gene decides that he is too busy for sports. He is too busy because he is assistant crew manager, and Finny doesn't approve of him being assistant crew manager.
"Listen, pal if I can't play sports you're going to play them for me." (Said by Finny) --x--

Winter Carnival

Finny trains Gene so he can compete in the olymics, that don't exist. Finny thinks that in some way he can compete through Gene.

Snowball Fight

Feb 11, 1944

Finny and Brinker have a snowball fight with two teams. This is just another reminder to Gene of how bad he ruined Finny's life long dreams of the Olympics, because of his limp on his leg. Then when Gene brings it up that Finny should be more careful, Finny says that he is, but Gene says that he is in denial.
Gene " Do you think you ought to get into fights like that? After all, there's your leg-"
Finny " Stanpole said something about not falling again, but I'm very careful."

"Olympic" Games - Fantasy

Finny wants there to be an olympic game in 1944 but it never happened.
"It was one of the few ironic remarks Phineas ever made, and with it he quietly brought to a close all his special inventions which had carried us through the winter. Now the facts were re-established, and gone were all the fantasies, such as the Olympic Games for A,D. 1944, closed before they had ever been opened(150). --x--
