The bombing of Hiroshima
He moved to Nagatsuka (on the outskirts of Hiroshima) where he was working when they dropped an atomic bomb on Hiroshima. despite having limited resources his team managed to treat over 150 people and have only one person die. -
Stroke
In 1981 he suffered a stroke that made him have to step down in 1983 -
