    Early Life

    Paul Feyerabend was born in Vienna, Austria on January 12th, 1924. He was born to a middle-class family and his childhood was mostly sheltered. After he started school at the age of six he learned how to read and became very fascinated with books. During high school, he made excellent grades, and math and physics came very easily to him. One of his teachers, Oswald Thomas, expanded his interest in physics and astronomy. He also took an interest in drama and choir. he graduated the year 1942.

    Shortly after graduating high school, Feyerabend was drafted into the German Army. After completion of basic training, he volunteered to go to officers' training school. After three years, he was shot in the stomach causing damage to his spinal nerves. He was soon released.     In 1947 he returned home to Vienna where he studied history, sociology, and later physics at the University of Vienna.     Career

    He was offered a permanent job at the University of California at Berkeley in 1959 and moved to the United States as a citizen. Over the years he publishes many works in philosophy making him one of the most well-known philosophers of all time. He gave different views on sociology and the philosophy of science. After a long life and a huge impact on education, he died on November 11th, 1994.
