    Paul Karl Feyerabend was born in 1924 in post-World War 1 Vienna. Where he lived a sheltered life to the point of stunted social growth. He would eventually reach school age and there he would learn his love for reading and a passion for philosophy.

    After a successful military career in a lost war and still healing, He went on to attend the University of Vienna’s Institut für Osterreichische Geschichtsforschung where he studied theoretical physics.

    It was there at the University of Vienna that he had earned his doctorate, but only once she switched from physics to philosophy. Under Krafts supervision he submitted his thesis for his doctorate on “Protocol Sentences”. The year following he would attend the London School of Economics and study under Karl Popper who would again and again be a huge influence in a lot of his future work.

    After he returned to Vienna in 1953 and published some articles on quantum mechanics, He accepted his first full time teaching position at the University of Bristol in England. Where he would give many lectures on philosophy.

    He accepted a position at the University of California where in 1958 he published two important works during his time has as a guest lecturer. One paper published was “An Attempt at a Realistic Interpretation of Experience”, and the other was his paper on “Complementarity”

    Feyerebend had a long and rewarding career, in the eighty’s he even was able to get hired by Zurich resulting in what the Stanford encyclopedia of philosophy would describe as his “ten wonderful years where he tought at Eidgenössische Technische Hochschule, and Berkley. During his role as teacher he also managed to find the time to publish numerous papers contributing to the science community. He would though eventually resign from Berkley in March of 1990 and retire from Zurich in 91.

    Paul Karl Feyerabend died in the Genolier clinic (Genolier, Canton of Vaud, Switzerland), February 11th due to a brain tumor that was diagnosed in 1993. After his death he was honored with numerous memorials presenting the collections of his life’s work.
