    Classical Era (Before 500)

    Spearthrower Owl (374-439)
    He was the ruler of Teotihuacan at the start of its influence across Mesoamerica in the 4th and 5th century.
    I chose this person because I enjoy reading about life of Mesoamerica. I love understanding what America was like before it was officially America.

    Middle Ages

    Genghis Khan (1162-1227)
    Khan was raised in Mongolia, which had an unstable political environment. He learned the art of politics and diplomacy. He established meritocracy, which means men rose to high positions because of ability, not family ties. Khan was sole ruler of Mongolian plains because he united with nomadic tribes. I selected this ruthless killer because despite being a tyrant, he was one of the greatest conquerors in the world.

    Renaissance Reformation

    Leonardo da Vinci (1492- 1519)
    Da Vinci was an Italian polymath of the Renaissance. He had notebooks that revealed a spirit of scientific inquiry and mechanical inventiveness. He had an unlimited desire for knowledge. I chose Leonardo da Vinci because he led by obtaining as much knowledge as possible during his life. He had drawings of inventions in his notebooks that were centuries ahead of their time.

    Enlightenment

    Thomas Jefferson (1743-1826)
    Jefferson was leading founding father of the United States, he was the author of the Declaration of Independence and he was the 3rd president of the United States. He was one of the men that fought for independence from Great Britain. Becoming independent meant that every man will be treated as equal.

    Enlightenment continued....

    Also, instead of having a monarchy like Great Britain, Jefferson, and the other founding fathers decided to have a democracy. This meant that the power was with the people. I chose Jefferson because personally, I have always been fascinated by early American History. He stuck out to me in previous research.

    Abraham Lincoln (1809-1865)
    He was an American politician and lawyer who served as the 16th president of the United States. Lincoln preserved the Union during the U.S. Civil War and brought about the emancipation of slaves.
    I chose Lincoln for my additional choice because he was one of the greatest leaders in the world.

    Age of Progress

    Queen Victoria (1819-1901)
    Her Majesty was Monarch of Great Britain and Ireland from 1837-her death. She is the second-longest reigning British Monarch. Victoria's reign saw great cultural expansion; advances in industry, science, and communications; and the building of railroads and the London Underground. I chose Queen Victoria because I have a high interest in British History. I have even been to London to learn as much as I could.

    Modern Period

    Nelson Mandela (1912-2013)
    He was considered by many to be the father of South Africa. Mandela was an anti-Apartheid Activist, which means that he fought for those who were disadvantaged by the system of racial segregation. He became a civil rights leader, leading many against the Apartheid government.
    I chose Mr. Mandela because he was an important figure in the civil rights movement.

    Postmodern, Science/Technology, or Recent

    Martin Luther King Jr. (1929-1968)
    He was a scholar and minister who lead the civil rights movement. King played a pivotal role in ending the legal segregation of African Americans citizens in the United States. King also won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1964.
    I chose Mr. King because I have done previous research on him and found his leadership to be a great addition to this assignment.

    Future Predictions In 15 Years

    In 15 years, leaders should be more personable and proactive. These leaders will have the goal of providing clear expectations to their staff. Also, they will want to empower their employees. Leaders are trying to implement these changes now but it will take a while to take affect.

    Future Predictions- 30 years

    Leadership in 30 years will have more flexibility than it does now. Leaders will understand that providing a more flexible work environment will result in an efficient work place. Leaders will also rely on collaboration from staff. Having the staff's input on certain objectives in the work environment will have a positive effect as well. The future contains more cohesion, trust, and responsibility.
