Introduction

May 1, 1980

This is the beggining of the story. Sherman develops his character (Arnold/Junior) and where he lives. Sherman explain what he went through on a day-to-day basis. Junior is a poor boy living on the reservation with his sister and his parents.

Rowdy

May 15, 1980

Sherman develops his bestfriend (Rowdy). Rowdy is a big, strong kid that protects Junior. Rowdy likes Junior because he makes him laugh. Junior draws pictures for Rowdy because Rowdy can not read very well.

Mr.P and Leaving the reservation

Sep 20, 1980

Mr.P is one of Juniors teachers. Junior threw a book in class and it hit Mr.P in the face and broke his nose. Junior didn't mean to hit his teacher but he still got suspended form school. When he was at his home, Mr.P came to visit him and Junior thought he was going to get revenge or something but Mr.P came to tell him about his own sister and how he used to teach her and how smart she was. Mr.P also told Junior how smart he was and he could be one of the ones to escape the reservation.

Junior transfers schools

Oct 25, 1980

Junior got hope from his teacher and decides he will switch schools. The name of the school is Reardan and it is known as the "white school." Junior tells his bestfriend Rowdy and he gets beat up. So His only friend doesn't like him right now and he is an Indian with disabilities going to a new school. When he gets to school, he sees a really nice and pretty girl. He also runs into some big, racist white kid named Roger that went too far and Junior Punched Roger.

Junior is respected at school

Oct 31, 1980

After Junior Punched the biggest kid in school in the face and when he pulls up to school on his uncle Eugenes motorcycle, he starts to get treated differently. Halloween came around and Penelope and Junior dressed up as the same thing (a homeless person) and this is Junior hance to get to know her. Penelope says that she is raising charity money on Halloween instead of getting candy. Junior gets money too and gets beat up for it so he didn't impress Penelope and he became depressed for a while.

Junior gets a Friend at school and learns about his sister.

Nov 25, 1980

Junior meets this nerd in class that is huge. His name is Gordy. Gordy releives Junior of his depression and shows him new ways to think about books. Junio leanrs that his sister is moving away from the reservation with her boyfriend out of no where. Junior tries to reunite with Rowdy by sending one of his pictures to his house and just ends up getting a middle finger. Junior start semi-dating Penelope. Junior feels like a part-time Indian because he isn't loved at the reservation or at school.

Junior is Poor

Mar 30, 1981

Junior has a dance at his new school and has no clothes to wear, so he wears his dads old suit. After the dance with Penelope, Roger invites them to eat. Juniors heart drops when he hears that because Junior has no money ever. He still orders everything on the menu because he wanted to seem wealthy for Penelope. He goes to the bathroom and Roger goes in after him. Junior tells Roger that he's broke. Roger was Juniors friend after he gave him 40 bucks! Roger even took him home after school aswell

Junior trys out for basketball team

Apr 7, 1981

Junior goes to try out for basketball and all the boys around him, including Gordy and Roger were so much bigger than him.Junior beleives his isn't going to make the team but he goes up against Gordy 1 vs 1 and ends up scoring on him with great determination and coach sees this and puts him on the team ASAP. Junior was a great shooter. Their first game was against Wellpinit, Juniors old school. Junior got injured from Rowdy in the first game. In the second, Junior blokced Rowdy and won the game.

Juniors grandmother

May 20, 1981

Juniors grandmother passes away after she gets hit by a drnk driver. People being drunk on the reservation is very common. So many people showed up to grandmothers funeral. Junior was no longer hated throughout the reservation. This white guy showed up at the funeral claiming to be on of Juniors grandmothers friends that was an Indian expert. He said he had a valuable dress of hers, but they found out it wasn't even hers. Rowdy and Junior are friends again. Junior gets defended at school.

Juniors sister

Jun 10, 1981

Junior sister dies in montana. Junior gets told by one of the teachers from school and Junior is so sad because his grandmother also died recently. Junior waits outside for his father and prays that all his family and friends don't end up dying aswell. When Junior gets into the car he starts bursting out laughing because he doesn't know how to act and he is just happy that his father is alive. Rowdy had also got alot better at basketball recently and his team the best around.

Junior and Rowdy Reunite

At the end of the story, Juniorand Rowdy reunite through climbing this huge, 150 foot pine tree and looking over the whole reservation. They told stories about the lake they were hanging over. The lake was infinetley deep and submarines have never seen the bottom. Rowdy told junior how Junior was going to be a star. They got hot and jumped into the lake and then go to play some basketball. Rowdy describes Junior as a nomad. Junior and Rowdy play basketball and don't keep the score.
