Chen a fellow retired soldier lives close to Chinese and Russian border. When an old friend he knows whom is called Chun comes to Chen for help. And as this happens Chen knows Chun by bad memories and how Chun cheated and left his sister. But so it turns out Chen realizes that he cant always hold a grudge against someone.

New soldier called Lee is brought in a group of newly recruited soldier men. And is often faced with many obstacles. And as time passes all the obstacles he faces are too challenging. But he can read real good and is smart.

7th event in Novel

1973 BCE

Si Ma Lin a teacher for soldiers to learn about history. Is influenced by Liu's stories. That he decides to bring Liu into his classes to teach about his experience as a soldier and being in the red flag army. Later on as Liu tells his story he tells a story that got his army group in trouble. That turns a supervisor in the room to report the story.

Group of Chinese soldiers are given a mission to guard a Russian prisoner. And as they guard they learn many new things. Along with how the Russian prisoner can or not be an undercover spy for Russia. But days pass and later on gets sent back but just imagine how tougher it'll be for him.

4th event in Novel

1972 BCE

Little Kang is a Chinese soldier and works as a telegraphic and radio soldier. He is in charge of getting emergency calls if anything happens. But his job turns out more difficult when meeting a girl and finding out she had an affair with one of his friends. And turns out heartbroken and leaves.

5th event in Novel

1972 BCE

Dragon Head that is leader of a private military group of men. And is to guard Guanmen Village. But having to communicate and get along with Gao and Diao's group of army doesn't get too well. And end up causing both groups to split after their job is done.

2nd event in Novel

1971 BCE

Kong Kai soldier of a Chinese patrol. Is a well respected man. And looked as a leader and does his job right. Until he has an affair with a woman and making it a big conflict to his job being a Chinese soldier. And causing him to run away and live happy with his girl.

3rd event in Novel

1971 BCE

Takes place in the Gunmen Village of Chinese. And basically a group of soldiers are sent to work and repair houses. And while doing their work encounter Uncle Piao whom comes from Korean. And the group of soldiers learn to hate more on Russians and are repeatedly told by Piao that Russians are useless and that they don't care about anything.

Takes place in the 1970's and in the first event soldiers are sent to patrol the border between China and Russia. And as soldiers live through this experience. There are many soldiers with different experiences.
