    Ahmadiyya Founded
    In March of 1889, Ahmadiyya was founded. Hadrat Mirza Ghulam Muhammad was the man responsible for finding the religious movement. He started the movement in a way to help one reconnect with Allah (God). It was also viewed as a way to revive Islam. One more thing to note is that the name of Ahmadiyya wasn't applied right away.
  • The Movement Gets Named

    The Movement Gets Named
    In a manifesto, Mirza announced the decision to name the religious movement. That name came out to be "Ahmadiyya". Although in his name it stated Muhammad, he would go by the alternative name of Ahmad. With that the name of Ahmadiyya was given. Muhammad also stands for "the most praised one" bringing in the feeling of glory into the movement.
  • 1st Caliphate

    1st Caliphate
    In 1908, Mirza Ghulam Ahmad had passed away in Lahore, Pakistan. With his death, it was time for a new leader, or as they called it, the caliph. Hakeem Nour-ud-Din is elected to be the first caliph. Not only was he elected, he was unanimously elected as everybody believed in him. Hakeem was the caliphate for the next 5 years.
  • 2nd Caliphate

    2nd Caliphate
    After the death of Hakeem Nour-ud-Din, Mirza Basheer-ud-Din Mahmood Ahmad became the second caliph. Basheer had a long reign as he went on for 52 years. He was able to make structure for the movement with the time he had. He made a "new scheme" and had a "new dedication" to help Ahmadiyya succeed. He was able to make an economy sort of by having Ahmadi muslims donate their money to help the movement. He was able to get Ahmadiyya established in close to 50 countries by setting up missions.
  • Community Headquarters

    Community Headquarters
    Mirza Basheer established the headquarters of the movement in 1948. He had placed the movement headquarters in Rabwah, Pakistan (Now Chenab Nagar, PAK). The move was made as they were able to successfully gain a good amount of desert just to headquarter the movement. They stayed there for a good 36 years.
  • 3rd Caliphate

    3rd Caliphate
    After Basheer ud-Din Mahmood Ahmad came Mirza Nasir Ahmad. After the second started the mission to expand, he helped that succeed more, more in the African region. He established the Fazl-e-Umar Foundation out of respect for his predecessors to help the movement grow stronger. He reigned for nearly 17 years giving him time to put emphasis into the movement. He did great when it came to medical clinics and schools for Ahmadi muslims. His main was that he made the movement strong in Africa.
  • 4th Caliphate

    4th Caliphate
    Mirza Tahir Ahmad came after Nasir as the 4th Caliph. He moved the headquarters to London to the first English Mosque, the Fazl Mosque. He helped launch a satellite network channel to help learn more about the movement and to make the new generation be able to continue the movement once they got old enough. He was great for starting up funds and charities, he knew how to get money and be able to use it in order for the betterment of every person who truly needed it.
  • 5th Caliphate

    5th Caliphate
    Mirza Masroor Ahmad became the 5th caliph after Tahir passed away. He was able to build a solid relationship with those of the likes of Queen Elizabeth II and Pope Francis by sending them letters. He is the current Caliph as this movement is still going. He was able to get the movement to across 200 countries and territories all over the world. Masroor has emphasized the needs of teaching and believing the principles of Islam. He has stood the caliph for the past 21 years and to date still is.
