The person that is the most dissipointed person in the family is father because he thinks sam does'nt think sam is ready to be in the war. He thinks he has no experience in the war and Life Mekker has.

Tim runs to get help so he goes to Tom Warupps house to get help from Sam. Then tim relizes that Sam took the family gun which was very important.

When Tim found out that Sam stoll brown bess he was heart broken because it was his fault that dad is getting hurt at the moment he curesed at sam and took brown bess back from sam and he chased sam through the forest.

As Tim and Sam go back to their house through the forest they see father,Life,on the Tavern floor finding that he is bleeding from his head.Tim and Sam are thankful he is ok.

When father and Tim went on a road trip to get cattle the got stop by cowboys.The cowboys attacked father and Tim wanted to act fast so he made a plan to run in the fields and let the cowboys chase him to let father go.
