Took office because of Lincolns death. Issued proclamations offering confederate states to join the union again. His plans did not protect former slaves.

Hiram was a republican. and famous for being a war gerneral. while president his republican party dissolved.

Ruther B. Hayes

while in precidency he watch construction end on the goverment. wounded 5 times in battle. Broke up the great railroad strike.

James A. Garfield

James was assasinated. he was a republican who beleived whole heartedly in anislaves. Garfield was only in office for 200 days.
