In the beginning of the book there is a prologue that gives the background of Jakobs life, what he grew up believing and what his Grandpa was like. When Jakob was younger his grandfather would tell him about the "monsters" that chased him to the "paradise island" where a group of unusual children lived. After his grandpa dies he learns more about the "monsters" how they were really just soldiers during World War 2, but hes intrigued to find out more. Fiction: pages 1-51. Total (966) -

After Jakobs grandfather dies, he starts to have trouble sleeping and interacting with other people, because of this Jakob has to go see a therpist. When Jakob finds a old letter addressed to his grandpa from Alma LeFay Periguine his interests in his grandpas old life spark up again. He decides he wants to go to the island, and with a little help from his therapist his dad and him are sent packing to so called "Paradise Island." Fiction: pages 51-88. Total (1003) -

Jakob has made it to the small island off the UK coast, but when he arrives he is disapointed to find a dingy old town stuck in the past. He is even more disapointed when his goes to the old childrens house and finds that it is abandoned and serverly damaged. When he finds a old trunk that has photos like his grandfather, Jakobs minds starts to wonder and think up crazy things. Fiction: 88-123. Total (1038) -

After Jakob followed the girl in the white dress into the woods he found a whole new world, the one he had been looking for the whole time. Miss Peregrines home for peculiar children and the children were defenitley peculiar, exactly like his grandpa had said. Jakob has to make a big decision, whether to stay with his family living his normal life or join the other peculiar children on a journey to defeat wights and the hollows. He found out that he shares a peculiar trait with his grandpa, they can both see hollows and thats why MIss Peregrine and the children all need him. When Jakob makes up his mind he tells his dad that his grandpa was right and that he will be gone for awhile. Fiction: pages 209-352. Total (1302)
