    Minamoto no Yoritomo was born in Kyoto.
  • 1156

    Minamoto's Grandfather dies he gets promoted

    1156- Yoritomo's grandfather is killed during the Hogen rebellion, his father becomes the leader of the Seiwa Genji branch of the Minamoto clan, making Yoritomo the heir.

    Becomes court administrator

    Gets his first position as court administrator at 12 years old.

    More war- Heiji Rebellion

    More war- Heiji Rebellion
    The Heiji rebellion occurs and Yoritomo's dad is killed. He gets promoted to leader but the Taira (people in charge of the capital), put him into Izu in the Kanto Plains.

    Kicked out of Izu

    Yorimoto gets kicked out of Izu because he had an affair with his captor's daughter and is taken in by Hojo Tokimasa.
