  • Autonomy versus Shame and Doubt

    Autonomy versus Shame and Doubt
My brother, Noah learned to talk at a much later age because his twin sister would always talk for him. At the age of 3, Noah started to develop a sense of self and began to talk more frequently. He was becoming a person distinct from his twin sister. He began to relay his own wants and needs to the family rather than his sister doing it for him.
  • Industry versus Inferiority

    Industry versus Inferiority
At the age of 6, my brother expressed interest in playing on a t-ball team. My parents signed him up right away. Noah needed a lot of encouragement because this was his very first sporting experience on a team. With lots of encouragement and practice, Noah began to become confident in his ability to play t-ball. He showed so much enthusiasm for learning a new sport that my parents then placed him on a basketball and football team for the next seasons.
  • Identity versus Identity Confusion

    Identity versus Identity Confusion
In high school, at the age of 16, Noah began to realize what his special talents were. Noah began to excel in sports. He understood that he was good at sports, and that is what he loved to do. He also began to realize that he was also very good at computer science. Noah was now excelling on the court and in the classroom. At this point in his life, he made a decision to become very proficient in both sports and computer science because those are what made him who he was.
