Mexico declared war on Spain
The spanish were in rule of Mexico in 1810. Father Hidalgo and many peasents started a rebellion against the Spanish. These people believed in racial equality and fair amount of land sared. The rulers of Mexico didnt beleive in these things. Even though the people lost to the Spanish government, this was considered the satrt of the war for mexican independece. -
Porfirio Díaz became president
Porfirio intimidated the citizens of mexico to vote for him. This wasn't the worst thing he did during his terms. He built factories, dams, and roads. This made the rural workers and peasants suffer. He also made horrible land laws. If someone with greater wealth came to Mexico, Díaz would kick farmers out their homes. This made small farmers helpless to find another house. -
Diego Rivera
Diego was born on December 8, 1886. He became a very influencial artist. The paintings reflected on Mexican people's lives. Through a governemnt program, he created murals for Mexico. He made many of those murals controveral. -
Francisco Madero become president
He became the president of Mexico after Diaz. Madero kicked him out of his spot. Since the citizens were getting angry because the difference between rich and poor began to esculate greatly. However, Madero got overthrown since he was a very weak leader and didnt live up to his promises. -
Victoriano Huerta became president
For Huerta to become president, he had Madero assignated. When Huerta was president he made a military dictatorship. His ruling did not work and was confronted by many. Huerta soon fled to Spain. Then, he went to the US where he was arrested for rebellion on Mexico. -
Los Soldaderas
Los Soldaderas were females who helped in the war. Few of them ever went in to combat but they all helped greatly. They helped by being nureses, cooks, and carriers of theiir equipment. Although most of the never faught in the war they all played very important parts. -
Villa and Zapata revolt
These two people were revoultionary military generals. They didnt support Carranza's ideas and actions. So, they collaberated. They revolted against the government. Then the US got involved after that. -
The constitution of Mexico
The constitution of Mexico was ratified by congress on Feb. 5, 1917. It was the first document in the world to set out social rights. It was written by the constituient congress of 1917. It is divided by 9 titles. Within the titles are chapers. The length of them vary. -
The end of the war
The end of the war is marked by the signing of the constitution. There was still fighting going on untill the 1920s. The point of the revolution was to get a fairer life for the mexican citizens. Many people believe that this was nothing more than a changeing of presidents. That is what happened at the end of the war. -
Venustiano Carranza became president
Carranza helped lead forces to make Huerta fleed Mexico. Then, on May 1, 1917 he became president. Venustiano was in serious differences with the US. When his term was finally up, he attempted to force the election. His oppenent led a rebllion against Carranza and he fled the country. He took with him valuable things, like government records. He was attacked and died. -
Alvaro Obregon became president
Alvaro defeated Carranza to become president. To do this, he had to lead a revolt against Carranza. This led to the assignation of Carranza, making him president. This presidnecy was the first one to be stable since the revolution began. He did many great things like, a huge educational reform, moderate land reform, and labor laws. -
President Plutarco Elías Calles
Calles was a powerful interior minister under Obregón. During his presential terms, he didnt treat Catholics equally. So, this lead to Cristero War. However, he did many great things when he was president too. For example, more educational rights and labor laws. -
Lázaro Cárdenas
He was picked for president by former president Calles. Many goals of the revolution were realized the. This was all becaise of Cárdenas. He implemented many things. For example, land reform and economic reform. -
Dive Bomber and Tank
José Clemente Orozco is an iconic mexican painter. He painted the mural "Dive Bomber and Tank". José painted it infront of visitors at the Museum of Modern Art in 1940. This mural has unanswered questions. For example, the legs that are pointing towards the sky. They could either be victims or bomber pilots. José likes leaving the uncertantity of these things in his paintings. -

The ex presidents of Mexico take stage in Mexico City. It was a very bold statement. This was to show their respect to Britian and America. They were going into the Second World War. This statement that Mexico did showed the citizens that their country was finally uniting.
