Theory of potential falsifiability
In fear of Nazism, Popper wrote "Logik der Forschung (The Logic of Scientific Discovery)" to get some academic standing in countries safe for the Jewish. In this book, he criticised naturalism, inductivism, and logical positivism. Instead, he highlighted and his theory of potential falsifiability and suggested it should how one should distinguish science from non-science. Critical rationalism
Popper coined "critical rationalism" to describe his philosophy. He held that no matter how many positive experimental outcomes happen, you can still not use it prove a theory but a single negative outcome can be used to disprove a theory. He also stated that just because a theory was falsifiable and could be proven to be false, did not mean it was inherently false. -
Academic Teachings
Popper managed to get a job as a lecturer in philosophy at Canterbury University College of the University of New Zealand in Christchurch and emigrated there.Here he wrote his very esteemed book, "The Open Society and Its Enemies". In 1949, he was given the title of professor of logic and scientific method by the University of London. -
Death
Popper died from kidney failure, pneumonia and cancer complications in London, England at the age of 92 years old. He had no children due to the war circumstances and his wife had already died in 1985.
