Joined becasue all of his childhood life he experienced segregation and had a thought that everyone should be treated the same. I have a connection to this because i saw my cousin play basketball when he was younger and no one would treat him the same as others that played too (because he was short). -

Led Bloody Sunday during the evening they went through a town in big crowds and protested the segregation -

Elected to cogress because of what he did to help the community in the past. -
Today's acomplishment
He was awarded by Barack Obama and award he still today serves as a representative for Georgias 5th district. All these events shaped the belief that everyone should be treated equal they shaped him because of what he had to go through just to get everyone unsegregated.
