  • The Quest Begins

    The Quest Begins
    Conner, an aristocrat takes Sage the main character, Tobias, Roden from the orphanages they grew up in. Conner reveals that he is going to have one of the 3 boys act as the prince in order to provide stability for the country, Carthya. Conner tells the boys that they will have two weeks to prove that they are the boy that he should choose, and that the other boys will most likely be killed to conceal the plan from his enemys.

  • Day 1

    Day 1
    Sage and the other boys arrive at Conner's mansion and are beggining to realize the true treasonous nature of the plan. At dinner Sage shows his defiant nature to Conner when they are talking about the plan to take the throne. Sage asks for the clothes that he wore with him to be returned to him.
  • Day 2

    Day 2
    The boys begin their lessons about reading and the history of Carthya as well as horsebackriding, swordfighting and ettiquete. While in horseback lessons Sage challenges Creagan, their teacher to a wild horse. Sage is dumped out in the wilderness and only gets back at dinner.
  • Day 3

    Day 3
    The boys lessons in history, writing, reading, swordfighting, horseback riding, continue. Sage also has his first lesson in ettiquete. The day almost goes by smoothly until it is discoverd that someone has stolen the sword that Sage used the day before. During his nighttime exploration Sage discovered secret passages running throught Farthenwood, Conner's mansion
  • Day 4

    Day 4
    When Sage gets his clothes back he finds that his piece of fools gold has been taken. When he confronts Conner about it he is denied the right of keeping it. After Sage stole it back and hid it he was taken and put into Conner's dungeon, where he was whipped and got a long cut on his back.
  • Day 5

    Day 5
    Sage spends this entire day and night in Conner's dungeon being tortured and questioned about the rock.
  • Day 6

    Day 6
    In the morning Sage promises to Conner that he will be his prince. However Sage does avoid the topic of the rock during this agreement. Sage spends the rest of the day resting in his bed.
  • Day 7

    Day 7
    Sage starts to get back into the swing of things with lessons, but is still too weak to participate in swordfighting and horseback riding. Sage continues to taunt Tobias, ending up with a threat that Sage judges as iminent.
  • Day 8

    Day 8
    On the eighth day the boys have lessons as usual again. This day everyone misses horseback riding and swordfighting. Instead the boys dance in the grand hall of Conner's mansion. Afterword the boys discover that they will be acting as servants when the princess that the chosen boy will marry arrives. They spend the rest of the day cleaning dishes, making bread and other kitchen work. At night when Sage is exploring, Tobias confronts him and cuts his back.
  • Day 9

    Day 9
    Sage, Roden, and Tobias have another day of lessons. Today is the last official day of horseback and swordfighting lessons because the other boys are finished with that aspect of their training. However Sage still needs instruction in swordfighting.
  • Day 10

    Day 10
    In the morning Sage twists the events of the night before against Tobias, making it clear that if he attempts to become the prince Sage will expose him and how he attacked Sage.
  • Day 11

    Day 11
    In the morning the boys were working in the kitchen once again in preperation for the dinner with Princess Amiranda. Later that night at dinner Sage notifies the Princess about a smudge of dirt on her cheek. After his honsty the Princess decided to trust Sage and later privately askked him if the rumors about the royal family being dead were true.
  • Day 12

    Day 12
    Amiranda left early in the mourning. Sage wass pulled out of his first class so he could catch up on swordfighting. Afterwords Sage's lessons continued as usual. That night the boys discovered that they had one more day of preparing before they left for Driliad.
  • Day 13

    Day 13
    The boys have spent the day getting dressed and made to look like Prince Jaron would if he was still alive.The boys use an old painting of Jaron to model what he would look like at this time. At the end of the day despite Sage's similaritys to Jaron, Conner picks Roden as the boy who will become Jaron.
  • Day 14

    Day 14
    Early In the morning when they are preparing to leave, Conner realizes that Sage has much more in common with Jaron than Roden and that he is the boy he should put on the throne. When they are about to leave Sage demands that the other boys come with them to spare the death that he fears they will face if they stay. The boys go in a carrige with Conner to Drilliad and stay in an inn for the night.
  • The Final Day

    The Final Day
    The boys and Conner are initally denied entrance to the palace so Sage shows them a secret passage throught the kitchens to get in. When they are going through Roden and Creagan, one of Conner's servants turn on them and demand that they stop and have Roden become the prince. Sage suggests that instead he and Roden duel. However Sage is much better than he showed in training because he is actually the prince, a swordfighting prodigy. Sage then proves that he is the prince with the fools gold.
