Thomas Edison
Thomas Edison lived from February 11, 1847 to October 18, 1931. He was an American scientist and inventor. He invented many famous and useful things including the phonograph (1877), the motion picture camera (1889), and the long-lasting, practical electric light bulb (in 1879, afer 1200 failed experiments). -
Marie Curie
Marie Curie born (died 4 July 1934). She discovered radium and polonium, was the first person to treat tumors with radiation, and she won two Nobel Prizes, one in physics and one in chemistry. -
Guglielmo Marconi
Guglielmo Marconi lived from 25 April 1874 to 20 July 1937. He was an Italian physicist and inventor. He invented the wireless telegraph and became known as the Father of Radio. He won an Nobel Prize in Physics in 1909. -
Albert Einstein
Albert Einstein lived from 14 March 1879 to 18 April 1955. He was born in Germany and was one of the most famous theoretical physicists ever. He figured out the Theory of Relativity, won a Nobel Prize in 1921, and invented the equation energy (e) = m(mass)*c(a constant)^2. -
Jonas Salk
JOnas Salk lived from October 28, 1914 to June 23, 1995. He was American researcher and doctor. He worked near here, in La Jolla. On April 12, 1955, his vaccine to prevent polio was released, and it saved thousands of people from getting polio.
