    Pilgrim's background
Through stories and events we learn of Pilgrims background. His parents died early, and he was adopted by a rich couple. He obtained a psychology degree from Harvard. He was chosen and trained by one of USA's clandestine agencies. He has always been a loner, and was perfect for disappearing to the known world. At a young age he became the head of an internal affairs force for US intelligence services. Later he quit, and using a pseudo name he wrote a book on highly detailed investigation methods
  • Ben Bradley

    Ben Bradley
Ben Bradley - a highly admirable and determined cop. He was injured under 9/11 both mentally and physically. During his recovery he became obsessed with Pilgrim's book. He soon ascertains the books author "Jude Garret" is just a psuedo, and devotes great time and skill to successfully track down the true author of the book, and one of the worlds best agents - Pilgrim.
  • The Saracen

    The Saracen
A young boy raised in Saudi-Arabia goes through a number a traumatic experiences, one of them being his fathers public beheading. He grows up to be a devout muslim. At a young age he went to join jihad against the soviets in Afghanistan. He came to believe the Americans were responsible for his fathers' beheading. His hatred for the United States grows. Slowly but steadily a highly ambitious and intelligent terrorist is being formed.
  • Saracens devotion

    Saracens devotion
The saracen starts planning his attack on the US. He spends eight years taking a medical and chemist degree. He completely vanishes to the known world, using a variety of made-up passports. The muslim man's masterplan is to not only damage the US government - he wants to completely destroy it. How will he do that? By inflicting America with a terrible virus; smallpox.
  • Retrieving the vaccine

    Retrieving the vaccine
Saracen studies intensely in order to create a synthetic smallpox virus. He needs to vaccinate himself to prevent infection. One of the only places where this vaccine exists is highly protected. Saracen sets up a plan for breaking in. For months outside the building he pretends he's a homeless man. One night he abducts the chief and using his medical skills amputates the mans eyes (the system used eye recognition), before stealing the valuable vial.
  • Testing

    Testing
Before producing the virus in masses, Saracen needs to be sure it works. Through an old friend who happens to be a chief in a city he "borrows" three people. Saracen has changed the coding of the virus to be able to kill through the commonly known vaccine. He gives the vaccine to one of the people before inflicting them. To his satisfaction all three of them die, and saracen is ready to spend the next years of his life mass producing the deadliest virus known to mankind.
  • Hotel murder

    Hotel murder
Meanwhile in USA, Bradley and the retired Pilgrim become friends, and Bradley asks Pilgrim to help him investigate an uncommon case. A young woman was found dead in a hotel bathtub. She is unrecognizable from the acid the murderer filled the bath with. Pilgrim recognizes the scene as a remarkable murder. We soon discover the killer is a woman; and she was an admirer of pilgrim's book on methods of solving serious crime. She had reversed the book to her own use to cover her crime.
  • Pilgrims' return

This murder, which was committed with Pilgrims "help" provokes Pilgrim. He desperately wants to solve the case. The scene kicks off a series of events which lead Pilgrim to determine that the life of a super secret agent is for him. He gets back into the business and devotes his time to the case.
  • Billionair death

    Billionair death
Pilgrim finds a prime suspect for the hotel murder case, a woman named Ingrid. Ingrid has recently arrived in Turkey and has married a woman who's billionaire husband recently died. It turns out the two women have a past together, and Pilgrim deduces the women cooperated in the murder of the billionaire husband. Pilgrim goes undercover as an FBI agent, and cooperates with the local Turkish investigation agency on the murder of the billionaire.
  • Leila

The leader of this local Turkish investigation centre (Leila) is very upset with the idea of an American coming to "ruin" everything. She is hesitant, and has no intention in cooperating with Pilgrim, the "American scum". The Turks have already decided the billionaire's death was an accident. Pilgrim gets semi-close to Leila, in a somewhat hostile way, and becomes fond of her son, who has down-syndrome.
  • Warehouse

    Warehouse
Meanwhile the saracen has moved to Germany - where he finds work as a warehouse packer. He learns that there is close to zero control on the goods for export. One of the items the warehouse export are common vaccines almost all children get at young age. He plots to replace these vaccines with the smallpox virus. From there the virus will spread from the kids to family, and due to winter time hundreds of thousands, if not millions will be inflicted. The virus would be sent in less than a week.
  • Terrorist threat

    Terrorist threat
At this time Pilgrim is forced to postpone his investigation of Ingrid - he gets a phonecall from a close associate who is currently above his position - he tells Pilgrim to immediately return to USA. When he arrives he is greeted by this associate - and beside him is the president of united states. They have a meeting where the president explains a squad of CIA agent had found three dead bodies in nomsanland and they had supposedly died of smallpox. They fear a potential bioterrorism attack.
  • The phone call

    The phone call
The terrorist is most likely a clean skin (someone not on any database). The President personally requests Pilgrim to take on this mission and track down this terrorist. It's an almost impossible task but pilgrim manages to find traces of the man. He discovers the saracen had made a phone call. He fails to locate where the terrorist (the Saracen) is calling from but locates the receiver, a woman in Turkey. The position is in the village he had tracked Ingrid to.
  • Surprises

Pilgrim seeks assistance from Bradley to help him investigate the woman who had talked with Saracen. They find out it was in fact Leila - the local turkish investigitian agencies leader who had talked with saracen. Pilgrim and Bradley investigate Leila in various ways - one being DNA testing of both her and her son. Bradley discovers the down-syndrome boy is actually Leilas nephew. Why would she keep that secret? Pilgrim suspects the boy may be the terrorists son.
  • The bait

    The bait
Through more research on Leilas' family background Bradley and pilgrim become certain that her brother is the wanted terrorist. But they had no way of tracking him. They came up with a plan - to possibly bait out the saracen. Through Pilgrims associations with Leila he will "accidentally" say mention a wanted terrorist carrying smallpox. This statement should make Leila call her brother again and ask for advice.
  • Problems for Saracen

The Saracen has just shipped away the last of the smallpox virus when he receives the phone call from Leila. She tells him an American agent knows of him. He can't risk anything going wrong now, after all these years of work. He gives specific instructions to his sister. Then he jumps on the next plane to Turkey.
  • Picnic time

    Picnic time
Pilgrim knows that Leila and her brother have taken the bait when she invites him to a picnic with her and her "son". In reality, the child is at home with a baby-sitter. Leila led Pilgrim to an obscure island with a boat, telling him that her son had a school trip and was at the island. When Pilgrim arrived, to his satisfaction, the Saracen was already there. He was ready with a wet cloth and bucket of water, ready to torture Pilgrim for this information. Everything was going after plan.
  • Trickery

    Trickery
The Saracen tortures Pilgrim for information, but pilgrim says nothing. After some time Bradley facetimes Pilgrims' phone - which Leila now has taken. Bradley is at their house with the babysitter and the Saracen's son - the child is suspended from the roof with a rope around his neck. The only thing keeping him from dropping down and being strangled is the fat babysitter holding him up. Pilgrim threatens that only Bradley can save the child - the babysitter's stamina is running out.
  • Decision

    Decision
The Saracen now has a decision: give up his life's dream of a destroying the United States, or give up his only child. The Saracen sees he is defeat; and you can almost feel a mutual "respect" between him and Pilgrim, the world-class tortured hero, and the highly dedicated terrorist. The saracen submits, and tells the whereabouts of the packages which contain the smallpox. Shortly after the saracen shoots himself in the head. Pilgrim and Bradley have just saved the US - and no-one will ever know
  • Born again

Pilgrim, the unsung tortured hero, retires yet again to live a normal life. One day while watching the news he sees that Ingrid's wife (the initial billionaire' wife) had died, which meant Ingrid now had the whole fortune for herself. Ingrid's masterplan now all made sense to Pilgrim. It initiated an spark in him - he discovered in himself he would never stop being a secret agent. He was born for the secret world, and for the first time ever he was pleased over that fact.
