  • Trust vs. Mistrust

    John is ten months old and his father has passed away from a car accent. His mother becomes depressed and distant from the child. Being alone during most of the day. John begins to mistrust his mothers ability to care for him.
  • Initiative vs. Guilt

    John's Uncle takes him for a summer when he is five years old. At this time he is taught how to catch and clean fish. At first, John wanted to do it himself and then he lost the fish and his uncle screamed at him.
  • Identity vs. Role Confusion

    John is now seventeen and reaching the end of his high school years. No one in his family has attended college or has even graduated from High school. John has been discouraged by his family to attend college, and claims of too must debt. Yet, John's dream is to become a Doctor and he knows in order to do so he must move from home and get a degree. Something that seems impossible with his family roots.
