    Context 2

It is somewhat uncommon for someone to have this mid level potential, but there are some with incredibly high potential. It get's exponentially more difficult to gain power the stronger you are. That's why there hasn't even been a person with level 10.0 power. And there are few in history with even close levels. Along with spells, there are enchanted items, items imbued with the magic of people, creatures, and gods.
  • 1562

    Context

Yiram was born in a world with magic, dragons, and in general fantasy stuff. In this world, there are a few dozen spells, and each person can use at least one. Spells are used by harnessing the energy that was leaked into the mortal realm by the gods, mana. Most people are just normal farmers, merchants, or whatever normal people are, but some, the few who have decent potential with magic, fight. They wield strong magic, and finding people this strong is rare. They usually have 2.0 to 3.5 power.
  • 1562

    Whoa, context again

After enchanted items, there are Gene Abilities. Each person is born with one, and they can be almost anything. These abilities' properties are decided by the skills, magic, and bloodline of the user. They typically can't be used until someone hones their power enough. These abilities are usually the core ability of most powerful warriors, and they are basically the perfect ability for the user. It represents them perfectly.
  • 1562

Hold on, is that context again?

If someone were to use energy magic and observation magic, magic that allows people to see, analyze, and just sense things they normally couldn't, they might be able to see energy, like an infrared camera. These abilities are incredibly diverse, and range from godlike attacks to minor positive effects on others. It could be changing your body into lightning, making others feel your emotions, or even seeing the future.

    Birth

Yiram was born to a family that lived in a village filled with incredibly powerful warriors. Most families that lived in this particular village produced many legendary warriors, and they defended their homes with their lives. Yiram was born to one of these families, and this family was particularly special. His was the last remaining bloodline capable of darkness magic. His father had died in a duel a while before his birth, and his mother was a reformation mage, showing high potential.

    Normal Childhood

During Yiram's early childhood, he was an eccentric child, with an ambition to become a great mage, and a warrior. He was raised by his mother alone, and was showing incredible potential for both his darkness and reformation magic. His darkness magic allowed him to create an inky black substance that is capable of just deleting almost anything, like a black hole. He learned as much as he could from the other warriors around him, and was determined to become powerful. He grew up fairly normally.

Maybe it's just me, but is that context?

Soon Before the story, a tyrant, whose name was unknown, had appeared, and easily annihilated the largest empire in the world. He appeared directly after the mysterious annihilation of many small villages, and they were found cut in half, as if he'd cut everything with a single, massive slash of his blade. He was titled the Bloody King by the public, and he led a council of incredibly powerful warriors. And he'd been rumored to have tamed a dragon, and have the ability to steal magic and power.

Hopefully we get to the actual massacreing here.

When the child form of Yiram had gone down to find out what was going on, and to get healed, he found everything dead. Again, chopped in half. He was immediately devastated, seeing everyone he'd ever loved lying dead, their heads rolling down the hill. He was only five, and he watched as a man wielding a horrifying crimson blade walked away from the gruesome scene. This awoke something inside of him, a willpower strong enough to fight, and make the one who destroyed everything feel what he did.

    The Massacre

On one average day, Yiram was alone, wandering in the woods in the afternoon. He'd begun to climb into a small hole, looking for a squirrel he found, and got stuck. And then, he used his darkness magic to escape from the hole, but he couldn't do so without being injured. So, he decided to go back home and ask one of the healers to help him out, because healing magic exists in this little world. But, something was off. The trees around him had fallen, as if they'd all been chopped in half.
  • Jul 24, 1569

Why are we still covering the massacre?

So, Yiram charged after the man, even with him being a small child with nothing but a bit of magic, he went and attacked the man who clearly had far more power than he could comprehend, but it was futile. The merciless Bloody King easily dodged, before kicking Yiram to the ground. He was just about dead from this devastatingly powerful kick, but he still fought on. He got up with unquenchable rage, and charged again, broken and bloodied. But the Bloody King saw something. He spared him.

Dang, this dude's been training a while.

Soon after being spared, the soon-to-be champion Yiram still burned with a fiery rage too powerful to be sated without vengeance. He began to practice his magic, and train his body to have incredible speed and strength, vital assets to becoming powerful. And, he gained much more power than most, but not anywhere near enough.
  • 1574

    Mentor time!

At the age of ten, Yiram ventured out into the world, searching for someone who can teach him how to become powerful, dead set on his goal for revenge. So, he found an ancient warrior, far older than the current era, and one with maybe enough skill to train him. He could control time, but he wished to no longer fight, but reside on his secluded mountain for the rest of time. But, he agreed to mentor him, and hone his skills. So Yiram trained under him. Oh, and he would not tell anyone his name.
  • Apr 10, 1581

Wow, the actual journey starts now.

Once Yiram finally becomes powerful enough to actually accomplish anything, the ancient warrior sends him out to accomplish his goals, and he still has the same unrivaled willpower and passion with him. But, he only has around a level of 4.3 or so power, and he's only just now developing his gene ability, one that lets him change how the darkness works, and manipulate everything about it, such as repulsing, hardening, bending, even healing. But he's nowhere near skilled enough to use it well.

You're my friend now. We're having soft tacos later.

During this period, shortly after Yiram's departure, he seeks out allies, because he definitely cannot take out the Bloody King without help, even with his incredible abilities. So, he goes and defeats beasts, searching for allies, and money to get equipment. Maybe he could hire someone to help him. But, he didn't have to wait long. He met many powerful warriors, all of which quickly united to defeat the tyrant that's ruthlessly ruined most of their lives. Each of them had similar power levels.

    The part that matters

Yeah, this segment of Yiram's life is the one that he gets insanely powerful in, basically the good part. Y'know? Like the part where Odysseus is at sea for ten years? Yeah, you get it.

Basically most of the rising action, story, and battles

This is the time frame that most of the story occurs in, as Yiram and his allies slowly but surely gain more and more power, killing monsters and villains with increasing power.
  • An update and an important fight.

Around a year after Yiram began his journey, he was on his way to duel with the Bloody King. He had become a monster, ruthlessly slaughtering all who stood in his way. But, when he came to battle the Bloody King, he wasn't there. Instead, it was the second in command, a man who had full power of the sky, rain, thunder, and all things related. He had incredible speed, far more than any opponent, but in the end, Yiram proved about equal in power, and the Thunderspear, the enemy, simply left.
  • Whoa, a crazy new upgrade

Soon after the battle with the Thunderspear, Yiram and his allies travel to a nearby city, to recover. But, Yiram has other plans. Soon, in the middle of the night, he sneaks away, only to escape into a deep, abyss-like cave. The true reason he'd come to this small village was rumors of a Demon. The Shadow Demon, and the Idol of Greed. The third most powerful demon, one that represented darkness. He sought to make a deal, so he did.
  • Demon stuff

Demons of this world are not like demons you would think of on earth. They're powerful gods of fear, each of them immortal. To gain power, they must make contracts to take powerful souls, and they cannot lie. Each of them represents a unique fear, and they can grant wishes relating to their fear. They are led by a group of the seven strongest demons, each representing a sin. Yiram's contract was unique though. Since he had attained such great shadow power, he was willing to grant much more.
  • Sorry, more demons

The Shadow Demon was willing to grant Yiram every single drop of power within itself. It would slowly begin devouring his body from the inside out, corrupting his mind, and empowering him. He would slowly start to resemble the demon's cracked, white stone features. The demon was only two claws and a mask, made of a cracked white substance, but its darkness abilities were unstoppable. That's how Yiram gained a large sum of his godlike power.
  • The final battle, I think

Nearing the end of his journey, Yiram was approached by the same man who had once stolen everything from him. He challenged Yiram to a one-on-one battle, and Yiram finally had his chance. His power was incredible by then, making him probably the most powerful warrior besides the Bloody King. He clashed with him, wielding blades of devouring darkness, but the enemy never even took a hit. His power was far greater than even a god's. But, he wasn't going for the kill.
  • HEH?!?!?

The Bloody King easily could've just devoured his soul, but he didn't. Soon, when Yiram was bloodied and broken, still burning with fiery rage. Then, the Bloody King stopped his relentless strikes. He then placed his hand on Yiram, before healing him, mending his broken bones. It turns out, he spared Yiram because he saw the potential within him. He clearly had an incredible will, and incredible power. He had enough to even rival his greatest ally. Then, he offered him an invitation to join him.
  • This is craaaazy man

Yiram was utterly and completely confused, and couldn't believe it. He'd been tricked into becoming powerful enough to help the man that destroyed him. But, the Bloody King's reasoning was valid, at least to Yiram. If Yiram was in his situation, he would've done the same.
  • ORIGIN STORY

Kiruel, better known by his title, the Bloody King, was a powerful warrior and mage before he ruled. He was not the cold, merciless monster who devoured souls, but basically, a chill guy who took out threats to people. He was once one of the greatest heroes, with incredible capabilities, and willpower similar to Yiram's. His family had an ancient past, one of the great warriors. They wielded absorb magic, magic that let them absorb things to get mana, or heal. Basically as energy.
  • Origin two

He was a master of the blade and this magic, and due to his birth, he could change his ability based on those around him. His bloodline was capable of either manipulating or changing the abilities of themselves, and maybe others. It was also linked to one a deity in one of the pantheons, the Absorb Dragon. It could devour souls, and Kiruel found that he was the mortal counterpart of the Absorb Dragon. He went from a warrior that banished the demons, to a man with a power that relied on death.
  • Origin three, sorry

He began killing mercilessly, turning dark and cold, and becoming a feared monster, all while knowing the day of reckoning will come soon. He knew how much their power would grow. So he needed as much power as possible, and only when he finished this could he end his killing.
  • Wow, the dragon part comes in

Dragons in this world are not what you would think, they're deities. Well, the greater ones are. The lesser dragons are not, but there is one of each kind of dragon which is the greater dragon. Every dragon grows forever, in both power and size, and they cannot die without being slain. There are flame dragons, frost dragons, resurrection dragons, basically one for each spell. Each greater dragon has a mortal counterpart that is linked to them.
  • This little This is getting out of hand.

Each mortal counterpart shares the same power, personality, just everything. Every dragon reincarnates, so they can't really die. They each also have a unique power that only the dragon and mortal counterpart can use. That's how Kiruel could steal souls, as he was the second half of the Absorb Dragon.
  • Period: to

Part where the hero becomes a side character

Soon after the interaction with Kiruel, many massive portals, or rifts, appear around the world. That's when the many gods and deities pour out of them, ready to destroy all life, under the command of one of the seven Idols of Sin. They were manipulated by unmatched illusion magic, and they hold incredible power. The only way to truly defeat them is to destroy their souls, but only one man, or should I say deity, can do that. You guessed it, Kiruel.
  • The end of time.

The battle lasted for weeks. All but a select few godlike warriors perished, and the only one still fighting was Kiruel. in the end, he massacred the enemy, albeit slowly. In the end, only he was left. He'd killed all of the invading deities, but all that was left was a broken man who'd eaten the souls of every last being, and an ocean of corpses. Corpses of gods, and mortals, and everyone he'd ever loved. Dang, that got dark.
  • Wow, he's dead now. That was short.

During the final battle of the gods, Yiram was mercilessly slaughtering many of them. He couldn't kill them, but he could incapacitate them for Kiruel, who could devour souls. But, he was reckless. The demon had corrupted his mind enough that he was no longer who he used to be. He was a monster. He viciously and ruthlessly killed all he could, and he used so much power, that the demon's corruption advanced much quicker. It devoured him totally, and soon went join the battle, and kill the mortals
