    Becomes head of the Nationalist Socialist (NAZI) Party of Germany following his return from WWI.

    took over the existing German government, called the Wiemar Republic after what was then the capital city. He did this through a series of tricky moves. He managed to get his party a majority in the version of US Congress that the Germans had at that point. Once his party had that position, he was supposed to become the emperor's chancellor, but he refused that position, causing a crisis. When the emperor asked him again to become the chancellor, Hitler said that he would only take the job.
