    British-Egyptian has tooken Sudan under there rule.
  • End of Condominium

    End of Condominium
    Britain and Egypt on February 12, 1953 had signed an accord ending the condominium arrangement. They had also agreed to let Sudan self government itself for three years.
  • Period: to

    Election.

    During Novemeber and Decemeber of 1953 the first elections were made.Ismail al-Aihari became Sudans first Prime Minster. The British and Egyptian officers were replaced rapidly after.
  • Freedom.

    Freedom.
    Finally after being under the rule of Britian and Egyot, Sudan becomes indpedent. In 1955 the Parliament had decided that Sudan should become "a fully independent sovereign state". So on January first of 1956, British and Egyptian soliders were to leave the country.

    The Civil War ends up starting in South,Mostly (Christian/African) The Anya Nya movement was it was being led.

    The First Civil war ended offically in March of 1972. Colonel Numiery signed apeace pact with the souths leadrer, Majoe-General Lagu.

    In Bentiu, southern Sudan there was a large finding of oil made. Now that the oil has been found in the South, the northern part of Sudan is going to want to get a hold of that oil for themselves.

    Another Civil war starts. This war involved government forces.

    Due to the heavy rainfall that occurs in the tropical Ethiopian highlands the Nile water increases. So then inAugust of 2001 many people in Sudan went homeless becuase of flooding there.

    After pressure from the human right groups, over 14,500 slaved are free.

    In 1820 Sudan was conqured by Egypt and Turkey.

    Things just seem to never be oing for Sudan. In March of 2001 Sudan has over 3 million people affected by hunger.
