This amendment abolished slavery in the United States which was important because, slaves were free people and had a voice which was a huge and much needed change. -
14th amendment was passed
This amendment forbids any state from depriving citizens of their rights and privileges and defines citizenship. This was important because, now pwoplw were equal citizens. -

This amendment prohibits the federal and state governments from denying a citizen the right to vote. This was important becuase, any citizen no matter race, religon or anyhting could vote and no one could take that away from them. -

martin luther king jr gets shot in the head by James Earl Ray. this was important because MLK was a main civial rights leader and him being killed was a big deal for change and for people to help perssue his dream more.
