Birth of Hernan Cortes
Hernan Cortez was born in Medellin on 1485. His parents were Martin Cortes and Catalina Pizarro Altamirano, and was born of Spanish nobility. He also was born Spanish. -

Schooling
Hernan went to University of Salamanca in 1499. The schools he went to were more higher education schools. It was believed he studied Latin and law. Later at the age of 19 he left to the New World. -

Work
In 1506 Hernan worked with the governor of Cuba to control Cuba. Doing this then rewarded Hernan with land and slaves. He continued working with the governor more and more. -

Government
In 1511 one of Hernan’s leaders became governor of Cuba and ranked Hernan one of his highests. Hernan was then named captain of the expedition to Mexico 7 years later. After a fight he was then demoted. -

Hostage
In 1519 Hernan was trying to take control of Veracruz. The leader, Montezuma, refused to give Cortes the land. He still did this even after being appeased with gold and other treasures. -

Take over
In 1520 Hernan couldn’t get the Aztecs to to accept him as their leader so he killed Montezuma. With Montezuma dead he took control of the Aztec empire. Soon then end of the empire came. -

Spread
In 1524 Hernan created farms in Mexico. As he did he helped spread Christianity. He did this with the help of other rulers later on. -

Accusations
In 1527 the rulers that came to help Hernan became sick and everyone accused Hernan for poisoning them. Between the time of 1528 and 1530 he worked on proving his innocence. Later he was freed but again got demoted from governor. -

In 1540 Hernando tried hard to get his later life recognition. He also tried to get his royal her noticed too. It didn’t work for him at all. -

Death
In 1567 Hernan died at the age of 62. Between he was released to his death he was basically a disrespected and ignored. He died of a legacy but also a greedy man.
