Captain Cook saw the isand of O'ahu but landed on Kaua'i.Cook landed in Waimea on the island of Kaua'i.He traded nails,and bits of iron for water,pork fishsweet patatoes,and kalo.He returned in November in that same year.When he returned on the island of Mauai and the cheif of Maui(Kahekili)visited the Discovery. -

Cook landed in kealakekua bay which is off the coast of Kona on the island of Hawaii.Kalani'opu'u and Kamehameha once again the English navigator.One of cooks men describe Kamehameha as a young boy that seemed to be the chiefs favorite.Kalani'opu'u gave Cook seven feathers cloaks and in return he gave him alinen shirt,asword and a tool chest. -
Kalani'op'u's death
With the death of kalani'opu'u a new ruler rose who was his son kiwala'o.kalani'opu'u made kiwala'o the ruler of the island of Hawaii,kamehameha his nephew was incharge of the war heiau.Kalani'opu'u gave his youngest son keoua some land. -
Cheifs of kona
The new ruler kiwala'o divided the land.The kona chiefs were angry with this decision.The chiefs went to Kamehameha for help,at the time he was living in kohala.The chiefs asked him to become their new leader and he agreed. -

Kamehameha met John young and Isaac davis in 1790.Kamehameha saw these men come off of two of many ships.Kamehameha saw that they were honest and smart so he made them apart of his staff of advisors.They help him get foreign weapon. -

kamehameha knew it was time to unite the islands.He gathered his canoes,warriors and artillerymen.He first attacked Maui first then Molokai.Kalanikapule had took his position in nuuanu valley along side his army.The winner of the battle was kamehameha but with the cost of hundreds of lives. -

The end of kapu started as kamehameha died.when Liholiho was at a ceremony to become king kaahamanu(kamehamehas favorite wife) came to the ceremony in kamehamehas close and announced that she was kuhina nui a position that has the same power as the king.Then after that she said for the kapu to be ended but liholiho disagreed.Then liholiho ate at a lu'au with women.so after that there was a revolt that ended kapu. -

The first missionares arrived on a ship called thaddeus.Aboard that ship was Hiram bingham,and his wife sybil.What the missionares wanted to do was get hawaiians to become christians.They also wanted to build houses and schools and obvisouly churches.They were also sent there to learn the hawaiian language and and teach them to read the bible. -

Kamualii was to be tested of his loyalty by Liholiho and Boki the govorner of Oahu.Kamualii surrendered all his forces to Liholiho.kamualii was brought to oahu and met kahumanu.He died in 1824 as kaahumanus husband -

Whaling was a big market because whales could be sould for many things.Some thing that whale parts can make is oil for lamps.Blacksmiths were really busy fixes damaged gears while carpenters were fixing hulls. -
Sugar cane plantation
The people who built this sugar cane plantation was three young men from new england.The bought 980 acres of land with 25 acres of sugar cane.During their first year they came upon many problems such as lack of workers and money to pay workers. -
The Mahele
During Kamehameha the 3rds rule the traditional system of land division was changed.Helped by his foreign advisors he divided the land.This was followed by something called the kuleana act in 1850.This kuleana act made that you needed a certain document to own the land.
