Birth of Harry Truman.
Harry Truman was born in 8 of may 1884 in the city of Lamar.He was born in family of farmers. Harry was the elder one, he had a brother named John Vivian аnd the smaller sister Mary Jane. -
childhood
Harry's family moved from place to place several times, and when Harry was 6 year old, they settled in Independence, Missouri. At the age of 8 he went to school, was fond of music, reading and history. After high school, Harry entered college, but after studying for only one year he was forced to quite his studies and look for a job. -
National Guard
In 1905, he enrolled in the National Guard of the State of Missouri, having contrived to deceive doctors during a medical examination, and in six years he was promoted to artillery battery in Kansas City before corporal. When the United States entered World War I in 1917, Truman returned to serve in the National Guard, receiving his first officer's rank. -
First World War
Before being sent to France, he underwent additional training at the Fort Sill base in Oklahoma. In mid-1918, as part of the expeditionary force was transferred to Europe. He participated in battles in the Vosges, near Saint-Miel, and in the Argonne forest. For all the time that Truman commanded the battery, not one of his soldiers was killed. After demobilization in April 1919, in the rank of captain, married Elizabeth Wallace Ferman. He did business, but went bankrupt during the 1922 crisis. -
the begining of political career
The beginning of Harry Truman’s political career is closely linked with the name of Tom Pendergast, the mayor of Kansas City and the head of the staff of the Democratic Party in Missouri. Relying on his support, and also because of his popularity among veterans of the First World War, Truman was elected a judge of Jackson County in 1922 (although he received a law degree only four years later). In 1924 he could not be re-elected, but in 1926 he became the chairman of the district court. -
Truman became Vice-President.
At the beginning of 1944 in the presidential election, he was nominated for the post of Vice-Presidential Election in 1944 and ended with a convincing victory for the Roosevelt-Truman couple. Nevertheless, he was not attracted to solving key foreign policy issues. He did not know about the project to create an atomic bomb. April 12, 1945, after the sudden death of Roosevelt, Truman, according to the US Constitution, took the presidency. -

Truman was a supporter of the creation of a NATO military bloc. He proposed to do this in order to stop the expansion of the Soviet Union in Europe. -
attempted murder
On November 1, 1950, two Puerto Ricans, Griselio Torresola and Oscar Collazo, tried to kill Truman in his own house. However, they could not get there - Torresola was killed, and Collazo was wounded and arrested. The latter was sentenced to death in the electric chair, but at the last moment Truman pardoned him, replacing the penalty with a life sentence. -

Truman died at 7:50 am on December 26, 1972 from pneumonia in Kansas City. He was buried in the courtyard of the Harry Truman Library. In 1995, the film "Truman" was shot about him.
