    George Crum: Inventor of Potato ChipsIn 1853, George Crum created the Potato Chip. French Fries were very popular at the resturant he worked at. One day, a customer came in and complained about a thick batch of fries. Crum made a thinner batch, but the customer continued to complain. Crum thought that if he made a batch so thin that you could not eat them, the customer would get annoyed. Crum made the batch, and surprisingly, the customer liked them.
  • Coca-Cola

    worldofcocaIn 1886, pharmacist John S. Pemberton, created Coca-Cola. He first created a flavored syrup, and took it to his neighborhood pharmacy. When he arrived at the pharmacy, the syrup was mixed with carbonated water. Those who sampled the beverage deemed it excellent. Prior to Pemberton's death in 1888, Coca-Cola became the #1 sparkling beverage. Coke is still many peoples favorite drink today.

The glass contained water, powdered soda mix, and a stirring stick. During the cold night, the beverage froze, and the morning after, Epperson woke up and discovered his frozen treat. He began giving them to his friends, then, as an adult, he gave them to his kids, and, sold them publicly.

    The History of The TwinkieIn 1933, the Continental Baking Company. A baker from the company named James A. Dewar got the idea for the "Twinkie" while he was delivering another product. His idea was a cream filled strawberry shortcake. Since the strawberry seaon was over, and the machines to make these treats sat idle, he changed the idea to a snack cake with banana filling. Twinkies were only sold for a nickel, and it was a great idea because money was tight in the great depression.

Baker was a professor of poultry science, and dreamed of making the first versions of chicken cold cuts, chicken hot dogs, etc. For years,chicken was only sold whole.He began to develop an intrest in the family business.He gained lots of popularity through this business,and became a local celebrity.He received his own lab, and eventually made the chicken nugget.
