The Birth and Death of George Washington -
Washington Was Made Commander.
Washington was made commander of the Virginia Troops in the French and Indian War. Even though he had no military experience. He was then put in charge of all militia forces. -
Washington was sent by Dinwiddie to warn the French.
George Washington was sent by Dinwiddie to warn the French to move. They declined so Washington came back with a small force of troops. They attacked and killed the French commander. This started the French and Indian War. -
Marrying Martha.
George Washington married Martha Custis. She brought great wealth to the family. She also brought two kids. This was Washington's first time marrying. -
George Washington took control of the Continental Army.
George Washington got the control of the Continental Army. It was during the American Revolution War. He got control so he could besiege Britain in Boston. -
Valley Forge.
George Washington rallied troops at Valley Forge. He made people stay and fight, just by inspiring them. The conditions were horrible but many still stayed. -
Constitutional Convention (Articles of Confederation).
Washington was elected president for the Constitution Convention. He was picked over many, such as, James Madison and Alexander Hamilton. There they discussed how to reform the Articles of Confederation. -
George Washington Brings the Revolutionary War to a Close.
George Washington surrounded Corn Wallis at Yorktown. He defeated Wallis and ended the war. Which gave American independence from Britain. -
Washington Resigns Commission.
After the War he resigns. He resigns in front of congress. He could have been a king, but he decided to resign and go back to his normal life. -
George Washington Becomes President.
George Washington becomes President with a unanimous vote. He set the example for future presidents. Even though he did not want to be President he did anyway. -
Washington Retires.
Washington retires from presidency. He turns over the presidency to John Adams. He then went into retirement fully.
