Lewes wife (Agnes) and he agreed to an open marriage which gave him 3 children. Agnes also had 4 children with Hunt , one of which Lewes claimed as his own. Lewes couldn't divorce Agnes because he allowed the adultery so they separated and he lived with Mary Evans the rest of his life.
