Henry the 4th
Born on December 13th, 1553
Ruled between the times of June 1589 and May 1610.
1. Battle of Coutras, victory.
2. Battle of Arques, victory.
3. Battle of Ivry, victory.
4. Issued Edict of Nantes. I would give Henry an A because he had many victories in battles and was succesful in confirming the religion of catholsism with the Edict of Nantes. -
Louis XIII
Born on September 27, 1601
Ruled between 1610 and 1643 after his fathers death. 1.Sent mother into exile so he would have full control over france.
2. Won battle against the Huguenots in 1628 at La Rochelle.
3. Accused wife for Treason
4. Won in a battle aganist Spain in 1635. I would give Louis the 13th a B- because he did have some victories in wars but he pushed his family away so he would have full control. -
Louis XIV
Born on September 5th, 1638
Ruled between 1643 to 1715 after his fathers death.
1. Won against the PArlement of Paris in 1653 with the help of his cheif minister, Mazarin.
2. He founded the Academy of Inscriptions and Belle-Lettres in 1663 and also had Colbert oversee the construction of the Paris Observatory from 1667 to 1672..
3. Did not have victory in The War of Devolution. I would give Louis XIV A- because he helped reform France and won many battles but he also lost some battles. -
Louis XV
Born on Feburary 15th, 1710
Ruled between 1715 to 1774 after his great grandfathers death.
1. Had succession in War of Austria
2.Was defeated in 7 yera war and was forced to surrender
3. CAused some tension between him and the french people beacuse of the treay of Aix-la-Chapelle. I would give Louis XV a C because hewas only able to have succesion in few wars and caused tension between both his people and many other countries, -
Louis XVI
Born on August 23, 1754
Ruled between 1774 to 1793 after his grandfather's death.
1. Drove the country to near bankruptcy by the mid-1780s.
2. Made matters worse by often escaping to more pleasurable activities like hunting and locksmithing.
3. Convened the Estates General, an advisory assembly of different estates or socio-economic classes in 1789 which caused even maore conflict. I would give Louis the XVI an F because all he caused was conflict and was not able to portary nay good events. -
Louis XVII
Born on March 27, 1785
Ruled between 1793 to 1795
1. Sexually abused his mother, aunt and sister
2. Was put into solitary confinemnet in 1794 I would give Louis XVII an F beacuse he harmed his family and did nothing to help his empire.
