    Lightning Storm

    A major storm when Victor was on vacation at his other house and he saw lighting strike a tree and saw how powerful it is. This inspired Victor to go into science which ended up with him creating the monster.

    This is important because Victor and his adopted sister Elizabeth become very close to each other. The monster ends up using this against Victor.

    When Frankenstein's mom was caring for Elizabeth, who had Scarlet Fever she saved Elizabeth but contracted it herself. This caused Frankenstein's mom to die from the disease.

    Victor goes to study here to follow his ambition about science and to study it. He decides to study science here because of the lightning storm.

    This shows how Frankenstein has gone from an interested scientist, to a obsessed madman who works on his creation day and night. This causes him to be sick physically and mentally by having him stay in his lab all day, and having his obsession develop while he is in the lab.

    Frankenstein decides to get materials for his creature by robbing graves and using he body parts to make a living being. This is how he can make his creation be able to be human like.

    Monster becomes alive and escapes

    Frankenstein finally enacts his plan on a stormy night to create a living being, but it goes horribly wrong and creates a horrific creature. This causes Frankenstein to run away from the creature, fearing what he had created.

    This happens because Frankenstein had fallen very ill after he created the monster. Clerval clearly sees how distressed Frankenstein is and how he is trembling and thinks it is the sickness.

    Frankenstein is worried about what will happen if he gets married and the monster is around. This causes him to ask his father to go on a trip over Europe so he can complete his work.

    Frankenstein goes to a strain of islands that is relatively isolated so he can free himself from the monster. He also is having trouble creating the new monster because he thinks of the detrimental effects it will have.
