While on vacation in Canada, FDR was diagnosed with polio Which was very deadly to have at the time. He thought his plitical career was over, but found ways to hide it in public. He had a wheel chair but was rarely seen with it. He went on to fund the March Of Dimes program that adventually found the polio vacein. He never regained full control of his legs. -

After being the govenor of New York, FDR decided it was time to move into bigger politics. During the 1933 election, the Great Depression was at its hight. Herbert hoover was the republician nomoniee and FDR was a democrat. The republicans were blamed for the depression so this gave FDR a huge advantage. -

Meeting at Yalta
FDR,Winston Churchil, and Joeseph Stalin met in Russia to discuss the end of the war. As the Nazi empire fell and the aliies closed in on Japan, FDR and Churchil tried to convince Stalin to help them in the pacific.
