On !492 columus sailed the ocean. He found america but thought it was india. He told everyone about the land and people started sending explorers.

Cortes
He was the one who conquered the aztecs. That is what spurred the rest of the explorers. He also became really wealthy.

He mapped the coast od texas. And he did it while he was on the boat.

Cabeza De Vaca
In 1527 he set sail.Their crew got shipwrecked and he was one of the 4 survivors. He survivied as a medicine man and was not killed finally he came to mexico and told his tale and told of the legendary cibola. They do not know the month or date.

Coronado
he sedt sail in 1524 came back on 1542. He was a failure becasue he was led on a wild goose chase by a priest. And then was sentenced to trial.

Desoto/Moscoso
He set sail in 1542.Desoto went around looking for goladn passage to china he but then died. Then moscoso came and became the leader. -
La Salle
Found the Mississippi river and claimed it in name of spain. Came back in 1884 to start a settlement but missed the river and missed by a 100 miles. The settlement failed and he was killed by his crewman.
