Charlie: Charlie's family was still having trouble coping with RJ's death. Charlie's mom was so upset that she had to leave the family and go stay with their Aunt Susan. -

Charlie: Charlie's dad still only wanted to do things that reminded him of RJ. Charlie begins to spend all of his time with Sunny and his neighbor Mr. Hanna. -

Charlie: Charlies dog, Sunny, was shot and killed by a hunter. -

Bone: Bone keeps getting passed back and forth between famalies. George and Marcy dumped Bone on a parking lot. -

Bone: Isabel and Thad couldn't keep Bone because the babysitter didn't like him. Isabel's father, Franklin, couldn't take Bone to the retirement home. -

Henry: He really wants a dog and his best friend moved away. -

Henry: Henry has made new friends in his neighborhood. His best friend moved away. -
Falling Action 1
Bone: Bone runs away from Franklins empty apartment and wanders into the town where Henry lives. -

Henry: Although Henry's parents told him that he can't have a dog, Henry spots a dog in his neighborhood. -
Rising Action 6
Henry: Henry has a rehabilitation plan that he plans to use to train the dog and convince his parents to keep him. -
Falling Action 2
Henry: Henry and his parents go to Aunt Susans house for Christmas and Henry learns the story of Sunny's death. Henry's dad is Charlie. -
Falling Action 3
Henry: Although Henry's dad didn't want him to have a dog, to save him from sadness, he realizes how important this is to him. -
Falling Action 4
Henry: Henry can't find Bone anymore -
Resolution 1
Henry: Henry and his dad go into the mountains to look for Bone. They find Bone stuck in an animal trap. -
Resolution 2
Henry & Charlie: They rescue Bone and take him to the vet where he heals. -
Resolution 3
Henry: Henry visits Bone everyday while he is recovering. And when he is well, he gets to go home with Henry. Henry names him Buddy.
