    The Original Flash was Born
Ernest Mach was born in Chirlitz-Turas, Moravia, Austrian Empire.(Now known as the Czezh Republic.) He is more commonly known for his studies in shock waves. His name is also where we acquired the speed that is a Mach number. Because of his findings in wave propagation and his critique or Newtons ideas on space and time, he assisted in Einstein's theory of relativity .
  • Mach's Band

    Mach's Band
During his time teaching at the University of Vienna he found a physiological phenomenon that showed the human eye to see bright or dark bands close to the boundaries of different illumination.
  • Sense Of Balance

    Sense Of Balance
Mach and Josef Breuer discover a non-acoustic function of the inner ear that helps control the sense of balance. They found tracing the information the brain receives from fluid movement in the semicircular canals within the ear. Mach then made a swivel chair to conduct tests on his theory and it is suggested that because of this, he paved the way for the physical concept of absolute motion and space.

    Kinesthetic Sensation

Mach studied kinesthetic sensations that were associated with movement and acceleration. During this time he developed optical and photographic techniques for the measurement of sound wave and wave propagation. It was deduced and confirmed that shock waves do appear in a cone shape form from the tip on the projectile.
  • Mach Speed

    Mach Speed
Retinal studies, hearing perceptions, wave motion and studies on the propagation of sound waves with the use of photographic devices, gave the terms ‘Mach Number’ and ‘Mach Angle’"

The Science of Mechanics: A Critical and Historical Account of Its Development
Completed at Prague in 1883 and translated in English a decade later, essentially detail what Einstein called “Mach’s Principle”. Mach's Principle: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cPEwkMHRjZU
  • Mach's Principle

    Mach's Principle
This principle tries to explain how rotating objects keep a frame of reference. A example of this would celestial bodies. The purpose was to understand absolute rotation. The principle goes onto describe that this movement is not simply a coincidence and that there is a physical law that relates to the motion of the stars. This concept which came from Mach’s book was a guide for Einstein’s creation of the general theory of relativity.
  • Mach's Death

    Mach's Death
Ernst Mach suffered a cardiac arrest in 1889. After retiring from the University of Vienna he was upper chamber of the Austrian parliament. in 1913 he moved in with his son and continued to write until his death in 1916 at the age of 78.
