Trust vs Mistrust
Since the day Danny was born on 07/12/2000 his parents have loved and cared for him. He loves his mother's snuggles and kisses. Danny seems to always be happy and full of life. He can always count on his parents for anything. In Erikson's first stage of life infants experiences trust vs mistrust. If the infant is cared for and loved it will learn to trust and see the world as a safe place but if the infant is not well cared for or loved it will learn to mistrust and see the world as unrewarding. -
Industry vs inferiority
Danny is in school and has made straight A's in all of his classes and has earned a black belt in karate. His parents are so proud and have helped and encouraged him every step of the way. In Erikson's fourth stage of life industry vs inferiority children learn more. If the child is encouraged and taught well he will succeed, but if the child is unsuccessful at learning and is not encouraged he might experience inferiority. -
Gernerativity vs stagnation
Danny is happily married and has just welcomed his first child into the world. He is so thrilled to have his little girl, but like most parents he is worried about being as good of a father that his father was. In Erikson's seventh stage of life generativity vs stagnation. Someone who contributes to caring for the next generation is in a stage of generativity. Where as someone who is only concerned with them self will in up in a stage of stagnation.
