    The birth of Erik Erikson was on the date. June 15, 1902, in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. His mother "Karla Abrahamsen" was from a well-respected Jewish family. While living in Denmark, she married a Jewish stockbroker named Valdemar Isidor Salomonsen. Unfortunately, the marriage didn't last. Leaving Karla with the choice of leaving Denmark, moving to Germany while pregnant with Erikson. Where she eventually met Erik's stepfather. Theodor Homburger.

    During his young adulthood, Erikson was unsure about what his career path would be. He found education to be very interesting and loved art. Leading him to start attending art school. But something felt wrong, he was uncertain about his fit in society. He decided to take time off and drop out, to spend time wandering Europe with his friends. Contemplating his identity.

    Achievements and accomplishments
    Erik was best known for his famous theory of psychosocial development and the concept of identity crisis. He wrote several books about his research and theories, including "Childhood and Society" and "Gandhi's Truth", which won him a Pulitzer Prize and US National Book Award in category Philosophy and Religion. Later on, Erik also received the highest honor for achievement in the humanities in the United States, the Jefferson Lecture, in 1973.

    Later years
    Erik and Joan got married in 1930. Having 4 kids together. Kai, Jon, Sue and Neil. Erikson’s work had a major influence on his family. His wife often worked closely with him, and his kid's Kai and Sue followed their father's steps. In today's time, Kai is now a respected sociologist. Sue also is currently a psycho- analyst/therapist. Sadly, Erik passed on May 12, 1994. Shortly after Joan passed on August 3, 1997. They now lay buried together at the First Congregational Church Cemetery in Harwich
