    Infancy: Trust Vs. Mistrust
    Brayden's mother lays him down for a nap and he begins to cry. He is hungry and needs his diaper to be changed. Instead of letting him cry himself to sleep, she attends to his needs by feeding and changing him. She lays him back down and he falls right asleep. In Eriksons first stage, Trust Vs. Mistrust, the crisis is between developing a trusting bond with caregiving and being mistrustful to those who try to take care of you.
  • Adolecence: Identity Vs. Identity Confusion

    Adolecence: Identity Vs. Identity Confusion
    Brayden (age 17) recently received a full-ride scholarship to his dream college. He now attends school full time, plays soccer and lives in a dorm room with his new best friend. He excels in his classes and enjoys the time he gets to spend with his teammates. He occasionally visits home on the weekends for dinner. In Eriksons fifth stage, Identity Vs. Identity confusion, the crisis is between becoming confident and secure with who you are and self doubt leading to life purpose confusion.
  • Early Adulthood: Itimacy Vs. Isolation

    Early Adulthood: Itimacy Vs. Isolation
    Brayden(age 21) and Dani married each other because they decided they wanted to be committed to each other and start a family. They want to be committed to the long term loving relationship they are creating together. In Eriksons sixth stage, Itimacy Vs. Isolation, the crisis is being committed to another person and becoming emotionally and physically close or self isolating and not letting others get to know you.
