    Trust vs Mistrust
    In Charles early years of childhood he was showered with so much love and affection, he was the center of attention to his parents as their first born child. Following the first stages of Eriksons theory which implements the security and reliability of care in the caregiver allowing the infant to build trust. Charles now will develop a virtue of hope as he gains support in this time.
  • Industry vs Inferiority

    Industry vs Inferiority
    Charles now age 7 beings tryouts for a local baseball team. According to Eriksons psychosocial theory it is at this age Charles will begin to compare himself to peers, and start to feel a sense of pride and accomplishment in school and other activities. With his parents supporting him Charles is able to gain a sense of competency allowing him to find success in his accomplishments despite multiple tries and failure with a strong support system he’s able to develop modesty.
  • Identity vs Role confusion

    Identity vs Role confusion
    Charles suffered a major injury this year making it so he’s not allowed to play baseball his senior season. Following stages of Eriksons theory, this is a major stage of development where the child has to learn the roles he will occupy as an adult. It is during this stage the adolescent will re-examine his identity and try to find out exactly who he is. It’s clear Charles is have an identity crisis as now he must think of another lifestyle for him outside of baseball, known as role confusion.
