MacArthur hits a low point in his military career as he is convinced a group of veterans are part of a large communist conspiracy. He forces the veterans out of Washington and back into their camps where he proceeds to burn it down and further push them from the capital. He is cited for using excessive force. -

Escaping the Phillipines
After his forces are surrounded MacArthur along with his family has to escape the Philippine islands. By and by planes he eventually makes his escape to Australia where he vows, "I came through all and I shall return". -
MacArthur's return
MacArthur returns to reclaim the Philippines for the U.S. and he give his famous speech. he is quoted saying, " people of the Philippines, I have returned". -
Oversees Surrender
MacArthur was named Supreme Allied Commander of all the Pacific forces sometime in 1944. He would be responsible for the surrender of the Japanese Army. He would do just that on September 2, 1945 aboard the USS Missouri he would see the the signing of a unconditional surrender y Japanese official
