The Four Modernizations of China are strengthening the fields of agriculture, industry, national defense, and science and technology. This is important because with tripled income China will become a very powerful country(Kort 140).

He granted more freedom than Mao did but public demonstrations interfered with the movement of people in the centre of Beijing.     On February 19, 1997 Deng Xiaoping died. He died of Parkinson's disease and lung infection. Before Deng Xiaoping died he picked his successors. This is important because he was a great political leader and strengthened China.
