Deng Xiaoping was born on August 22, 1904 in Guang'an, Sichuan province of China. His father was a middle class landowner. This event is significant because he will soon become one of the most powerful figure in the People Republic of China.("Deng Xiaoping") -

Albert Einstein created E=mc2 on November 21,1905. It stated that energy equals mass times speed of light squared. A small amount of mass can be converted into a very large amount of energy. Light can act as it consists of discrete, independent particles of energy. Discovery the nucleus in a atom
In 1911 Rutherford discovered the nucleus using the gold foil experiment. He fired a thin beam of alpha particles into a tiny sheet of pure gold. Alpha particles are helium nuclei. Using the gold foil experiment he found out that the atom is mostly empty space with a tiny, dense, positively-charged nucleus. This is important because he found out the design of a atom and made a diagram so everyone knows("Discovery of the electron and nucleus"). -

In 1924 he joined the Chinese Communist Party after meeting with Zhou Enlai he became interested in Political works. He first started in Europe when he joined the Chinese Communist Youth League in Europe. This is important because he will soon become a crucial members of the General Branch of the Youth League("Deng Xiaoping biography"). -

Model T was built by Ford Motor Company from 1908 to 1927. It was a affordable auto mobile for the common man. Henry Ford used the assembly line to mass produce Model T. The assembly line decreased time and value but increased in number of Model T. It was mass produced in many different models but only in one color. This is important because it not only made transportation easier it also created a way of mas production(Model T). -
Creation of the Atomic Bomb
German scientist discovered fission that can cause an explosion. President Roosevelt wanted to create a atomic bomb so he created many sites for it. Ernest Lawrence devised a process of magnetically separating U-235 and PU-239 isotopes. The first atomic bomb was created in 1945. This is important because we created a weapon that can destroy not only our enemy but also the world(Schwartz). -

From 1946 to 1949 he as an served educational leader of the Chinese Revolutionary Army. With his organization skills he made the Chinese Revolution Army grow to a large military machine during the communist Revolution. This is an important event because Mao praised Deng for his organization skills(Deng Xiaoping). -

Belgium, Netherlands, and Luxembourg united to create Benelux. Benelux, Germany, France, and Italy created the European coal and steal company to show that free trade concept was a winner. In 1957 they expanded their agreement to include agriculture, products, and linking their own economy known as the common market. Great Britain, Ireland, Denmark, Greece, Spain, and Portugal joined too. Finland, Sweden, Austria joined. This is important because Europe unite for their economy(Steve 264). -
Pinyin system developed
In 1949 the Pinyin system was developed in China. Pinyin literally mean "spell sound" in Chinese. The most common Romanization system is the Wade-Giles. Many systems already exists and most were created by christian missionaries. This is important because pinyin lets other countries speak Chinese easier and easier to understand people with accents(M. Chai and W. Chai 199-200). -
Gained many titles
In 1956 he gained many titles. Those titles include Secretary General of the CPC Central Committee, Head of the Organization Department and Vice Chairman of the Central Military Commission. This is important because with the titles he gained he will become the Secretary General of the Secretariat in 1957("Deng Xiaoping biography"). -
Regained his position
Mao and Deng had a argument about rightist policies and Mao stripped Deng of his positions. In 1975 he became vice-chairman of the party’s Central Committee but dropped and regained it in 1977. This is a significant event because he will continue to rise and increase China's economy("Deng Xiaoping biography") -
Got in charge
In 1977 Hua Guofeng helped Deng gain his position back. He outmaneuvered his competitors to gain control in 1978. This event is significant because he will make China's income triple(Kort 138). -

China income triples
From 1978 to 1984 China's income tripled under Deng using the Four Modernizations of China. The Four Modernizations of China are strengthening the fields of agriculture, industry, national defense, and science and technology. This is important because with tripled income China will become a very powerful country(Kort 140). -
Killed hundreds of people
In 1989 he killed hundreds of people just to maintain his stability. He granted more freedom than Mao did but public demonstrations interfered with the movement of people in the centre of Beijing. He first sent in unarmed troops but when that failed he was forced to do whatever to maintain peace(Vogel). -
Stepped down
In 1992 he decided to step down. He first gave up his position in CCP’s Central Committee then his position in the Political Bureau and its dominant Standing Committee. This is a significant event because he made China a powerful country and all his hard work can be for nothing if a bad leader takes over("Deng Xiaoping biography") -
Death
On February 19, 1997 Deng Xiaoping died. He died of Parkinson's disease and lung infection. Before Deng Xiaoping died he picked his successors. This is important because he was a great political leader and strengthened China.
