David Hume and growing up
David was born In Edinburgh to an influential family, they were a good family in the eyes of the community. David's Father died when he was just a toddler. David's mother realized at an early age that he was intellectually advanced. David Started Edinburgh University at approximately the age of 10 when he eldest brother started University there. He had found his place in the world and was quite pleased with himself. -
Early years
David's family hoped he would become a lawyer and thy though he had the perfect demeanor for it. Around this time David had started writing. -
1737- Returns home
In 1737 David returned home to England. -
Who is David Hume?
David Hume is regarded as one of the most important philosophers to write in English language. He was well Known in his era as a historian and essayist. At one point in his writings people started accusing him of being an atheist and promoting skepticism. Most philosophers were regarded in that context from what I have learned. He did develop the theory of linguistics; meaning a word that does not stand directly for an impression by ones mental process. -

During David's lifetime e he wrote many great works of literature and philosophy. The following is a list of his works:

*Enquiries Concerning Human Understanding (1748)
*Concerning The Principles of Morals (1751)
*Dialogues Concerning Natural Religion (1779)
The last book on this list still remains widely influential to this day. -
New Job
David accepts a position as a young noblemen's tutor. -
Family in high places helps
David became secretary to his cousin Lieutenant General James St. Clair. This allowed him to take trips to such places as Austria and Italy while being his secretary. -
Home Sweet Home
David once again returns home and spends copious amounts of time revising his previous works. -
David Meets The Other Philosophers
At the age of sixty-five years old David dies as a result of what was believed to be cancer. He was on buried on Calton Hill which overlooked his home in Edinburgh.
