The apples' color change
Jonas was curious about how the apple changed for a moment and he was the only one who saw it. Quoted from the book, " But suddenly Jonas had noticed, following the path of the apple through the air with his eyes, that the piece of fruit had- well, this was the part that he couldn't adequately understand- the apple had changed. Just for an instant." -
The Ceremony of the Twelve
Jonas was nervous about what the ceremony was like. The ceremony of the twelve is where every children recieve the job they will work for their lifes. Jonas was scared and also curious what job he would get. -
Gabriels' light-colored eyes
Jonas dad brought Gabriel from the nursery to their home. Jonas saw his eyes and wondered why he was the only one, after Jonas, that had light-colored eyes. That thought got Jonas very curious. -
Jonas got the job as The Receiver
When Jonas got the job as the receiver, he was so curious what that job was about. Was it scary? Was it boring? Jonas really wanted to know about his job and he was actually kinda excited to start his job. -
Fionas' color hair change
Jonas was talking with Fiona and he sees something wierd about her hair. It started to change. Her hair went from black to red and it was a beautiful color. -
Jonas asks about colors
Since Jonas say Fionas hair change and the apples color change, he asked the giver why was he the only one who could see it. Jonas argues that without color, there aren't choices. He can't decide in the morning whether he wants to wear blue or red. He knows what color your shirt is isn't really important, but he thinks the ability to choose at all is what matters—on principle.The Giver explains that, if that were the case, then Gabriel might make the wrong choices. -
The old receivers failure
Jonas was curious about why did everyone say that the previous receiver was a failure. He asked The Giver what was that about and the giver told him the story. The story of how his daughter gave herself to be released. -
Jonas wants to feel pain
Jonas wanted to see a memory of pain because he wanted to experience it. The Giver passed him a memory of war, where everybody was dead, especially children. When he feels intense physical pain for the first time, he is shocked. He realizes that all the emotions he's ever experienced thus far have been shallow and meaningless. -
Jonas is curious about release
Jonas wanted to know what would happen to the weakest twin. When the Giver showed Jonas the video of his dad killing the twin with the syringe. Jonas got scared, mad and began to protest that killing people is wrong especially newborn babies. -
Elsewhere
Jonas wanted to know how was it like at Elsewhere. He wanted to leave the community with Gabriel before he released him and go live at Elsewhere. Jonas wanted to know if it was a better place to live than the one he is now.
