    The purpose of this journey was to find out if the seven cities of gold were real. Esteban, thinking that medine men held power everywhere, went into a Zuni tribe and demanded food and women. The Zunis were not happy about a stranger demanding those things, so the killed him. Fray Marcos told of seeing one of the seven cities of gold.

    The two cities he searched for were Quivera and Cibola. El Turko (the turk) led them to Quivera. "Quivera" was really a village of grass huts. Coranado order The Turk strangled. The importance of the journey was that, since Coranado gave a bad report, the Spanish withdrew from Texas for 150 years.
