Progris Riport #1
Charlie Gordon, an extremly illiterate person, writes his first progress repot in order to keep track of how his testing comes along. "Dr. Strauss says I shud rite down what I think and evrey thing that happins to me from now on." (371). -
Progirs Report #3
Charlie has his first test against Algernon, "it was like a race with a white mouse." (373) The test didn't go so well for Charlie because "... Algernon won every time." (374) -

"Lots of people... wish me luck," Chalrie writes in the lastest progress report. He is about to enter surgery which could have a good or bad outcome, but all Charlie wants is to "show that mouse [Algernon] I can be as smart as he is." (375) -

A few days after the operation, Charlie decides to go "back to work at the factery." (376) "I miss my job and all my frends and all the fun we had there," (376) he writes in his Report. -

The test results are getting better and better after the surgery. He gaining a lot of knowledge abput everything; " Mrs. Kinnian says Im learning fast." (381) -

"I feel sick inside.... My chest it feels empty like getting punched and a heartburn at the same time," (382) Charlie writes in his report. The previous night he went out with Joe carp and Frank Reilly, some of his fellow co-workers. He went to a party and things did not go as planned, he drank too much and he was made fun of. -

Charlie "still didn't go to the factory" (383) today. He is still too embarassed about the previous day at the party. -

Charie finally gets up the nerve "to ask Mrs. Kinnian to have dinner... tomorrow night," (386). Charlie enjoys the company of his tutor greatly and he loves to be around her. Although he asked her, she had to get permission from his doctor first and he gave them the ok. -

At dinner with Miss Kinnian he starts to realize who he actually is. He witnessed a boy break multiple dishes which was upsetting to him: "I felt sick inside as I looked at his dull, vacuous smile, the wide, birght eyes of a child, uncertain but eager to please. They were laughing at him because he was mentally retarted. And I had been laughing too." (391) -
Progress Report #13
Starting on May 23 the team and Charlie start to see changes in Algernon. First " Algernon bit" (393) Charlie, the next day "he is less co-operative" (393) and the next day he "refuses to work the shifting lock problem."(393) It wouldn't be a really problem if a mouse wasn't able to do such things, but everyone is starting of identify Charlie with Algernon. -
Extra
Algernon dies. Charlie "put Algernon's body in a cheese box and buried him in the backyard, (396). -
Progress Report
Charlie starts to see signs in himslef of his progression degressing. He has recently "become absent minded,"(396) which is always a bad thing. -

Charlie is "forgetting things that [he] has learned recently." It is so sad to see all his progress go to waste.
