    Charles Jonh Huffam Dickens was born on 7 of frebruary of 1812, in Portsmouth, UK. His father were Jonh Dickens and Elizabeth Dickens.

    His family move to London in 1822 when Charles have 10 years. He received education in a school for the first time, he spend his time reading.
  • His father went to the prision

    The finance of his family went wrong, his father have a lot of debs, so his father was denounced for unpaid debts, and his father went to the prision, Charles visited his father every sunday

    When Charles Dickens was 12, he start working on a factory of shoe polish, he had ten-hour workdays, this changed his life. These experiences marked his life as a writer.

    In 1831 he stared working in a newspaper as a jornalist, and writing became his pasion

    In 1834 he was hired by the Morning Chronicle, a newspaper as a political journalist. But in 1836 the articles that he had written were published in the form of a novel, as they were well liked by the public

    Charles Dickens get married with Catherine Thompson Hogarth and established his residence in Bloomsbury. They had ten children.

    In 1842 traveled with his wife to the United States, after published many books and gain a lot of popularity in England. Going to the United States served as inspiration for some of his novels
  • Went to Italy

    in 1848 took all his family and went to Italy, he started to work on another newspaper
  • He bought Gad's Hill Place

    His popularity allowed him to buy Gad's Hill Place a large house located in Higham, Kent, it had a special meaning for the writer.

    He met Ellen Terman, a young actres who participates in one of his plays, this relationship ccost his marriage, and he separated from his wife, but they never divorced. He spend the rest of his life whit Ellen

    while returning from France, he sufred a train accident, he forgot the ounfinished manuscript of Our mutual friend, and returned to the car only to retrieve it

    Charles agreed to preside over the Birmingham and Midland Institute, thus becoming its sixteenth president.
